Koi (Nishikigoi)

IMG_4512A number of people have asked if I will be selling imported Japanese Koi. Unfortunately, at this time I do not have the setup to do so.

Because of this interest in imported Japanese koi allow me to introduce you to Devin Swanson of Koi Acres.

Devin is the first person from the United States to be granted an apprentice visa to enter Japan to learn about koi keeping. Devin spent three years in Japan apprenticing under Hisashi Hirasawa of Marudo Koi Farm.

While in Japan Devin made many friends within the koi industry such as Mitsunori Isa of Isa Koi Farm, Sigeru Mano of Dainichi Koi Farm and Hisato and Chikara Nogami of Nogami Koi Farm just to name a few.

Devin is also fluent in Japanese and understands the culture and people. So when you put all this together, his knowledge of the people and industry along with his personal ties to the area you won’t find anyone better to bring back the finest quality koi at the best prices to the United States.

Please visit koi.koiacres.com and be ready to be amazed at the quality of the koi from the various breeders across Japan.

Keep in mind if you don’t see something you are looking for Devin makes a number of trips to Japan throughout the year so be sure to let him know what you are looking for and your budget.

Don’t forget to tell him John from Minami Koi sent you.
